Looks like the top three contenders are from the Philippines, Italy and Ghana.

I haven't had an opportunity yet to do a deep dive, but from my brief overview, the Filipino Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle looks not only be a clear front runner in popularity, but will continue the progressive path started by Pope Francis and is young enough to have more than a few years in the Papacy.

Cardinal Pietro Parolin (Italy) is a little older, a lot more moderate, but has had a strong diplomatic presence for the Vatican for years. So he certainly has a solid base.

Cardinal Peter Turkson (Ghana) is the oldest, but still progressive. He's very outspoken on human rights, and I've supported him for years. His age though makes me nervous.
