Advent

Advent starts today!! Woo hoo! I'm going to church later this afternoon and I'll get an advent calendar then. I'm excited, we're getting closer to Christmas! I know a lot of people think that Thanksgiving is the start of the Christmas season, but it's really Advent.

Thanksgiving though was awesome. Fried turkey is the bomb and I had a blast (pun intended) helping Wade fry it. Plus, no one burned the school down, double plus good. The food was delicious and I think I about ate my weight, which is good. Gluttony is a sin...except on Thanksgiving when it is not only expected, but encouraged. The time off from school is welcome too. I'm ready for the semester to be over. I feel like I've not had a break in FOREVER, which is basically the truth since I did summer school last summer. I'm not even thinking about summer school this coming year...oops. Crap.

I'm looking for new music, anyone have anything to recommend?

Those are all amazing! I had no idea you liked that sort of music. Have you ever tried Flogging Molly or the Offspring?

I have indeed decided to enjoy Punk Rock music. I appreciate their philosophy and independence from the restrictive label paradigm of American music. I have not yet reached the two bands you mention.

well, you should check them out. and indie music too, it's similar to punk rock, but less angry usually. Still independent from major label companies though. You might like The Raconteurs, Empire of the Sun, or Franz Ferdinand.

absolutely. new york is a great place for music. you can go almost anywhere, anytime and find a live band.
