my intention, for those that don't know, in law school was to become a defense attorney. That was waylaid by a few things and I ended up here, which is great. Not a lot of need for defense though.



So I'm watching the indictment today, following the case, and I just gotta say. I WOULD NOT TAKE THIS CASE. FUCK NO.

1. he has a reputation and history of not paying his attorneys.

2. he has a history and reputation of asking/forcing his counsel to commit crimes on his behalf
2a. some of his former counsel have already gone to jail on his behalf

3. while the case is a career maker, it will break any career just as much

4. it is a full time case that would preclude taking or continuing any other clients

so I'm terrified to see what counsel will take this.

I mean, if nobody volunteers, I assume he gets a what's it called, a public defender, right? Now that person I'd feel sorry for.

theoretically, yes.

but some hack will take it. probably because they think they're Atticus Finch. Hell, we've already seen his "spokesperson" read a statement today

I mean, I know you're not wrong and that makes me sad. I guess we just hope the criminal justice system actually does it fucking job.

well, that its gotten this far is already the justice system doing its job so... cautiously optimistic?
