To summer school or not to summer school? I don't HAVE to. And I've taken it for the past uh...3 summers so I could graduate on time.

So it's kinda familiar.

Pros: familiar, get ahead, not sure what else to do over the summer

Cons: familiar, SCHOOL IN THE SUMMER, done it a lot

Suggestions and opinions?

I was thinking more along the lines of "what money, how?"

I'm not a fan of flying and working off a college budget. Which means nada.

I like this idea! train? or car?

Train. Definitely train. And bus. Ain't gonna tank drivin' duties. Or I could fly us some ways because I'm awesome. (I had a lot of sugar at dinner)

I want to see national parks. And pretty scenery.

I'm not a fan of flying. I've only done it once, but did not like.

Hiking? Hiking!

But I'm an awesome pilot. Plenty of leg room and fresh air.

Ok. Dude. We're so gonna to do this. Day after my GEDs end. If you mention summer school again (whatever the heck that is), I'm gonna steal your dinner.

summer school is just what is sounds like. school in the summer instead of a vacation. I was a ridiculous amount behind when I got here and did it to catch up with where I should be. And I did.

Dude, that's gonna make team rollouts tricky, yo. Get some simulator time in in the jump seat, because if we get called out and you barf in the Blackbird, Scott'll make you run 4:30 am 3-miles for MONTHS.

I've never barfed! And I've done that, some. The Blackbird is better than whatever it was I flew on last time. It was just so loud and the vibration bothered me.

4:30 runs will be the least of your worries if you actually throw up in my Blackbird and not in one of the paper bags.

how did "I don't like flying" turn into "gonna barf on your plane?!"

I'm not gonna barf! I've never thrown up while flying! Yeesh!

Just a warning to everyone Matt. I know you've never had any trouble with that.

Although if you'd like to take some trips out in the plane to get more comfortable with flying we could do that.

Dude, once is kinda hard to say never. (also man, chill, I am yanking your chain. You need a vacation, yo, you're twitchy lately.)

All the geniuses here, and you couldn't come up with a better way to collect the results of air sickness than paper bags?

Man, McCoy must have started slacking.

Sometimes the classics are the best.

Besides, while I trust Hank, can you imagine if his machine managed to get clogged up just when you need it? I think I'll stick to paper bags, besides, we can use them to take notes if we have to. Redundancy all the way.

Are any of the course offerings worth it for this summer? You could always compromise and study abroad.

there's a bunch of general ed stuff I could take.

study abroad? I hadn't thought about that.

It may not be too late to see if West Pace University has any openings. It is always better to have both hard work and reward.

I'm doing summer school this year - just need to figure out what classes. But I like getting ahead so I can move on to other things I find even more interesting. Would college summer school be really different?

Date: 2014-03-25 10:57 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] x-daredevil.livejournal.com
yeah, I'm not taking heavy course loads because getting braille material can be difficult and I need plenty of lead time to get it and stuff, too. So summer school could be a good way to stay on track. Summer school in college is really short, so even one class can be pretty intense.

I took two classes with Miss Frost last summer. I'd guess two is the maximum you could take in college?

Hey, I've got hobbies. I just realize that to accomplish what I want to accomplish, I'm going to wind up being in school for the next ten or twelve years if I don't take steps to minimize the number of classes I'm required to take for my degrees. That's just smart, dude.
