I have nearly 3 weeks until I go back to classes, but I went by campus to get my textbooks since they're ready. The disability services department has been converting them for me all summer (which is a bitch and a half, ugh). I get everything else digitally, thank goodness.

I'm taking this art class and it requires all this stuff. Marie-Ange, can I borrow things please? I don't know what yet, but once I know?

I'm not ready for going back though. Summer's not yet over! We need to do something else before the end of summer!!

Certainly - I have an abundance of supplies I do not often use. What sort of art class are you taking? If I do not have the supplies to lend, I can always take you to the good art store, and introduce you to the actually helpful staff instead of the not very helpful staff who are just there for a paycheque.

it's a sculpture class. I needed an art or theater or something similar and it seemed like fun. But I don't want to invest a ton of money into stuff I might not use again.

You are probably going to work in clay mostly then, I think. Perhaps stone also. I have tools I can lend you but not leftover clay or stone, since I do not sculpt often and your school will probably want you to purchase whatever the same thing everyone else is using.

The next time you are in the city, text and I can lend you my tools and we can setup a tacklebox for you to organize them in. Mine is not really suited to your needs, and possibly not really easily portable.

I can come by tomorrow, if you've got time? Hit the hardware store or whatever for a box or something. I'll bring my label maker, just in case.

I should have time - text before so I can make sure I am at the apartment and not the office. A fishing box or little tool box should be fine and yes, a label maker will help - or texture tape, is there such a thing as textured tape?

There is textured tape, but there's not a lot of variance in the texture. It's more for traction and anti-skid. My embossed label maker is a much more useful thing, though if there's something that I will be using a LOT then the tape might help mark it?

No problem, I'll text before I get on the train, plenty of time.

I was thinking the tape might be easier because a label with words may not fit on a handle of a tool and still make it comfortable to hold..

there's always shorthand, just using a couple letters. or instead of having the label go down the length, just attach it like a flat at the end.

I'm counting down the days. First university class! I may be a little excited.

....Maybe. First impressions are important!

Even on the first day? Well at least I can make a good impression on the other freshmen if not the teachers :)

yep. grad students are jaded. so are professors.

That makes me sad, all the college professors I've met have always seemed so passionate about their subjects and teaching.
