You know, I honestly expected it to be something mocking the Church, given the byline, but it's comforting to have someone so well-qualified in the position that Friar Benanti is. Or well, the positions, given all the committees he's head of and the consulting he does.

I honestly hadn't thought overmuch about AI one way or the other, but reading his thoughts on the ethics of it has made me think it might be worth looking into. Not the way a lot of corporations and things are using it, of course, or the news agencies who've been caught using it to write stories. Thanks for the link! If I come across anything that gives more information or a different point of view, I'll pass it on.

I find it both incredibly interesting and forward- thinking that the Vatican has experts already in place to tackle these issues, because AI will affect everything in the not too distant future, moreso than it already is

Yes, exactly. Honestly, I've been quite pleased with Pope Francis' policies and his messages of service as well as, to a degree, tolerance. Lord help us if anyone ever actually convinces him to offer an opinion on mutants, though. I'm not sure anyone's ready for that.

he's been very strategic on bringing the church into a more modern era without ignoring or fully alienating the more conservative core. and he recognizes that to continue, the church must move forward to the future without alienating the younger generations. but no, I can't see him offering a stance on mutants
